It was the creation of Louis Cartier, the founder of Cartier. This iconic model draws inspiration from the Renault FT-17 Tank, which was used during World War I. Over the years, the Cartier Tank has gradually evolved, but the design, style and shape have mostly remained the same. The Cartier Tank Jumbo is a unique model. It combines the Cartier Tank look, design and feel with an automatic movement which, until this model was launched in the 1970s, was largely unheard of for the Cartier Tank. The Cartier Tank Jumbo features an 18K yellow gold caseback with a bubble-like center housing the automatic movement, which differs from the flat back generally associate with Cartier Tanks. The watch measures 28mm x 35mm and features a classic white dial with black roman numerals, blue hands, and is marked SWISS at six o’clock. The iconic Cartier cabochon crown is accented beautifully by a black crocodile strap with 18K yellow gold tang buckle. The case is in stunning shape and shows a beautiful patina.
